Do I want an eReader?

So I just saw this commercial for the Kindle and I really like it! Good job, Amazon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDjhkGNVSxQ I've been debating for the last year and a half if I want one. And now B&N has a version that seems cooler (the Nook). And of course the iPad is a viable reader option as well. What a conundrum!
Pros: Quickly purchase books to begin reading right away. Carry only your reader instead of multiple books. Have another cool techno gadget.
Cons: No pages to turn. Do I have to hold it with two hands? Will it still feel good to curl up with? And you can't lend it to others... Any thoughts?

My JCrew shpiel

It's pretty pathetic how much JCrew I've started to accumulate since I started working there... but I've started to embrace this look and am getting really excited about the spring wardrobe! A few things that I have already started stockpiling (and know that I will end up purchasing in multiple colors):
-the obligatory chino shorts in a full spectrum of colors

-large, flashy, shiny, borderline-gaudy costume jewelry

-blazers!!! this school boy classic is going to get a lot of wear time this spring...especially since there's apparently a thing called spring jackets. not something I was so familiar with in Tex.

-chambray- I've recently been re-intrigued by this fabric.

-and of course, v-necks. layered, slub cotton, long, in every color of the rainbow, with my blazers or with my nike running shorts.

Now you know what I'll be wearing. And you can sleep better with this knowledge. I have no doubt.

Oh yea. Last night.

On the way to dinner with my hot date Abigail, we spotted this license plate… words don’t even begin to express the jealousy. It made the most roundabout route to downtown (via Georgetown, Dupont, and Foggy Bottom- basically a tour de DC) worth it.

And then we went to Chef Geof’s, scored some HH deals, and split about 4 meals.

TGIF (and not the wannabe chili's eating establishment)

So it’s Friday and that makes everything better automatically. But I also realize how impacting the small things are when you’re at work. Like today I’ve really enjoyed:
-the perfect Pandora playlist which today is sparked by Lilly Allen and Asteroid Galaxy Tour
-a witty conversation on gchat with a friend (or just trying to gchat someone part of your meal if you’re talking to Abigail)
-hitting all the green lights when you’re in a hurry to get back to the office and devour the incredible PF Changs that you’re smelling in your car
-being told by your Turkish coworker (after making her watch a Justin Bieber music video) that you really have what it takes to be a pop star
-finding out that some of your friends from work are secretly trying to eat at the same restaurant you are that night… (Founding Farmers at 830 if you want to know)
-deciding that from here on out, Carey Beth and I are only allowed to dance like Justin B when we go out. It’s a full proof way to land all the hotties. If you’ve not seen his moves, check ‘em out.

-and right now, writing my blog in word so I can look productive. A skill I’m honing unfortunately.

Unrelated- I like this picture. (from the aforementioned impossible cool)

Secretly (well probably not as secretly as I’d like), I love cool websites and entertaining videos. Some of my most recent faves and finds:
An unlikely crew singing their
hearts out
The man your man could smell like.. you’ve seen it. You know you want to see it again.
A precious and beautiful blog about his
dad
Constellations- Setback. A tune that makes me want to release my inner hipster
All black and whites of
iconic figures. And the realization I’ll never be cool. (CB showed me this one)

More where that came from. Don't worry.

Check out this photo from http://www.dcist.com/ (from flickr user eschn3am whoever that is... ) makes me so happy to be in this city!

OH- and also importantly, I got to see this last weekend:
If you can't tell this is my family... and other favorite things like sand, sun, shorts, pastel colors, the south, large body of water, and now I feel like I'm playing "I Spy" by myself with this picture. That's enough for now. Oh and this is compliments of Jenna Dee. She's a great photographer. Don't believe me?!!? www.studioDetro.com You'll be singing a different tune after checking out that bad boy.

Let's try this again

Again. I have failed at this whole blogging thing. BUT with this new weather, comes a renewed interest in updating it. Instead of the lengthy life updates, I'm going to go with whatever is on my mind. And right now- that's an overwhelming obsession with SPRING!

I'm going from this:to hopefully this:
I am incredibly giddy for the warmth. As I have never been for a season in my life. AND daylight savings- it's like magic! I get off work and need sunglasses- who would have thought?!?!
